Monthly filers: GSTR-1 for October is due on 11 November 2026, and GSTR-3B on 20 November. Quarterly (QRMP) filers have nothing to file in November except paying their October tax by PMT-06 on 25 November. The 1 November GST changes did not move any of these dates.
Checked on 1 November 2026. These are the standard statutory dates. We found no CBIC notification extending any of them. CBIC can still extend a date by notification. If it does, we'll update this post.

The 7 November row is an income-tax date, not a GST return. It is here because the same people often handle both.
What 1 November changed, and what it did not
Several GST changes started on 1 November 2026. They are about rates and credit notes, not about filing:
- Discounts given after a sale can now be handled with a credit note plus the buyer reversing the credit, as reported for Notification 03/2026-Central Tax. See bill of supply vs tax invoice vs credit/debit note.
- Retreaded tractor tyres are at 5% and psyllium seeds (isabgol) are exempt. See the 57th GST Council post.
None of this changes GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B dates. Some posts online lump rate changes, return dates and income-tax dates into "everything that changes on 1 November". Use the table above for the return dates.
If you are a QRMP (quarterly) filer
November is a payment month for you, not a return month:
- 13 November: optional IFF. Use it to upload October invoices to buyers early, so they can claim credit sooner. You can skip it.
- 25 November: pay the tax for October with PMT-06, using either the fixed-sum or the self-assessment method.
- January 2027, not November: the quarterly GSTR-1 for October to December is due on 13 January 2027, and the quarterly GSTR-3B on 22 or 24 January 2027, depending on your state. Some calendars online still show the October dates for the quarter, so check the dates before you plan around them.
30 November: the ITC cutoff for FY 2025-26
Section 16(4) lets you claim input tax credit on an invoice for a financial year only up to 30 November of the next year, or the date you file the annual return, whichever is earlier. For FY 2025-26, that is 30 November 2026. This is the standing rule, not a new notification.
What to do before the 20 November GSTR-3B:
- Compare your purchase register with GSTR-2B for April 2025 to March 2026.
- Ask suppliers who haven't filed GSTR-1 to file it. Their October GSTR-1 is due on 11 November, and that is what makes the invoice show up in your GSTR-2B.
- Claim what is eligible in the October GSTR-3B on 20 November. The November return is filed in December, which is after the cutoff.
The same 30 November date is the deadline to issue a credit note that reduces your GST for FY 2025-26. See bill of supply vs tax invoice vs credit/debit note. For what a missed return costs, see GST late fee and interest, with worked examples.
Other dates people confuse with these
- Q2 TDS statement: due on 31 October 2026, so it is already past. If you missed it, the TDS calculator shows the Section 427 late fee.
- ITR for audit cases: 21 November 2026. See the tax audit due date post.
- October GST dates: all passed. The October post is about last month. Its "today" and "tomorrow" lines were from 24 and 25 October.
A short plan for November
- By 7 November: deposit income-tax TDS and TCS deducted in October.
- By 10 November: GSTR-7 and GSTR-8, if you deduct or collect tax at source.
- By 11 November: file GSTR-1 for October, so your buyers see the invoices in GSTR-2B.
- By 13 November: QRMP filers may use IFF for October.
- By 20 November: monthly filers file GSTR-3B for October, with the last FY 2025-26 credit.
- By 25 November: QRMP filers pay October tax by PMT-06.
- By 30 November: the Section 16(4) cutoff for FY 2025-26 credit.
Filed late? The GST late fee calculator works out the fee and the
