GST or non-GST, PDF or Excel
Use the toggle above to switch between a plain invoice and a GST-compliant tax invoice — the GST version adds GSTIN, HSN codes, and the CGST/SGST/IGST split a taxable supply needs. Either way, download the result as a print-ready PDF or an editable Excel file, or print it directly. If you've saved your details under My Business, they'll fill in for you automatically.
What a GST invoice format needs
Under GST invoicing rules, a compliant tax invoice generally needs: the supplier's GSTIN, the recipient's GSTIN if they're registered, a sequential invoice number and date, an HSN/SAC code per line item, the description/quantity/value of each item, the applicable GST rate with the CGST/SGST or IGST split, the place of supply, and the supplier's signature. Switch the toggle above to "GST invoice" and this tool covers GSTIN, HSN, and the tax split. It reads the state code from each GSTIN to pick CGST + SGST or IGST, shows the place of supply and the reverse-charge line, and writes the total in words. The invoice number field is optional and blank by default — fill it in and it appears on the document; a compliant tax invoice needs one, so don't leave it blank when GST applies.

Frequently asked questions
Is a non-GST invoice legal if I'm not registered for GST?
Yes — a business that isn't registered under GST (for example, below the registration threshold) issues a plain bill/invoice without GSTIN or a tax split, since it isn't authorized to charge GST at all. Use the "Non-GST invoice" toggle for that.
Can I edit an invoice after I've downloaded it?
Yes — nothing is saved once you leave the page, so just fill the form in again (or use "Use my business details" to refill your own side instantly) and download again. There's no server-side copy to edit.
How does the invoice decide between CGST + SGST and IGST?
By the state in each GSTIN. The first two digits of a GSTIN are the state code. If the seller's and the buyer's state codes match, the supply is within one state and the tax splits into CGST and SGST. If they differ, it is IGST. The tool sets this once both GSTINs are in, and you can change it if the goods are delivered to a different state. A buyer without a GSTIN needs the choice made by hand, based on where the supply is delivered.
Can I add a UPI QR code and bank details to the invoice?
Yes. Enter your bank details and a UPI ID in the payment section and the invoice shows a Pay by block with a scan-to-pay QR. The QR carries the invoice total and the invoice number, so your customer doesn't type the amount. The QR is built in your browser, and your UPI ID and bank details aren't sent anywhere. Scan it once with your own UPI app before you send the invoice. Save the details under My Business and they fill in on every new invoice.
Is my invoice data uploaded anywhere?
No — the invoice is built and rendered entirely in your browser. Both "Download PDF" and "Download Excel" generate the file locally on your device; neither sends your data to a server.
Do I need to issue an invoice for free samples under GST?
Free samples given to someone you aren't related to, with nothing charged in return, are generally not treated as a taxable supply, so there is no GST to collect and no tax invoice is needed. Send them with a delivery challan, or a zero-value invoice if your buyer or transporter wants an invoice number, and keep the record. The input tax credit you took on the goods you give away as free samples is not allowed, so reverse it. If the "free" sample is really part of a paid order, the value stays on the tax invoice. Check your own case with a CA.
